Dear brothers and sisters,
That was a step of faith we took- having the consultant check when Charis was still only recovering from her setback. Our consultant, knowing our situation, offered to come late. But we said we will go ahead as we had scheduled it in March. And we had asked you to pray for us.
With the checking completed now,
We revisit our fears that threatened our faith before the checking........
‘What if Charis becomes very sick that we would have to stop the checking- with the consultant and the language helper having come all the way from their places just for this'
Charis did have times of severe pain. The pain came back when we began the checking- I wondered if we would be able to continue.... But God made our feet firm enough to stand through- Not a day's checking was interrupted.
'What if Charis will not be able to write her school final exams'-
Except for her last exam, she had abdominal pain for the rest of the papers. But God gave her strength to sit through the 3 hrs. (I did not give her the prescribed pain killer as it made her drowsy)
' How will I manage, when Joseph would be away for a week-Eunice had college- how to leave Charis alone at home'-
But, our language helper was such a help in doing some of the physical work. Our consultant was completely gracious to be totally flexible- Our church friends opened their homes to keep Charis when I sat in the checking.
‘Will we able to really manage a month-long check of some of the difficult books- with Charis requiring diet'
There were times of weariness, pressure of her diet, pressure of all day checking -verse by verse-with books like Ephesians, 2 Corinthians, 1 Peter! We had to take one hour at a time, and one day at a time. We were given strength to make it through the sessions!
Now as we look back,
How could we remain without thanking you! If it were not for your faithful prayers, our brothers and sisters, all this month, our feet would have given away! You remembered us in your prayers. You were part of the translation checking! That’s why we were made strong for this challenge!
Thank you so much and Praise the Lord!
By God's grace and your prayers Charis did not complain of any pain for the past three weeks. Each such day is so precious now! So we completed the checking in a joyful note on April 5th!
We are praying that God will be merciful to us and restore her Pancreas to normalcy. She needs a lot of grace to adjust with the diet- (Now she cannot eat one of her most favorite food -Egg Omelets! That makes her very sad! ) Many of you are praying for her. Thank you so much! Please continue to pray!
Lots of Love,
Omana with Joseph, Eunice and Charis
PS.
Could not complete Galatians and 2 Peter. That would require another checking session.
